Kim’s Video from East Village, New York City, is moving from NYC to Salemi in south west Sicily and will live La Dolce Vita as reported in New York Times today 2/8/09 the 8th February 2009.
Lasy year Yongman Kim was looking for a home for his video collection. Through a intriguing series of events the council of Salemi in western sicily are excited to become the new home of kim’s video collection.

Ms Franca Pauli president of an art foundation called Clio assisted Kim’s Video in their transfer to Salemi along with her colleagues Glen Hyman and Dario Colombo. Kim’s video collection will be arriving in Sicily towards the end of the month and will then be hosted in a 17th centurary Jesuit college in the centre of Salemi, where the Salemi civic museam is also hosted. Film lovers will be invited to visit Salemi in Sicily and visit the Never Ending Festival projecting Mr Yongman Kim video collection non stop 24 hours a day.
The Salemi administration lead by Mr Vittorio Sgarbi, Salemi mayor, and the head of the department of Creativity Mr Toscani are currently managing the Salemi regeneration project and offering some of the old town houses for 1 euro.

Hi, I am from a HUGE Salemi family from Chicago, Illinois and I am looking for long lost relatives and searching my lineage. My Grandfather (deceased) was Stephen Salemi and he married Mary Pace (from northern Italy) in the early 1900’s. I myself am a grandmother now. I am working on a family tree for my family and would like to hear from any Salemi’s out there.
